HPGR roller re-studding

Carbide stud patterns matched to the ore, not the catalogue

High pressure grinding rolls live or die on the stud pattern. Get the carbide grade wrong and you either lose studs to impact or wear them flat against abrasive feed. We supply studs to the roller drawing with the grade chosen against the ore abrasiveness, moisture and the edge loading your roller sees.

How we choose the material for this duty.

  • Abrasive, low moisture feed (quartzite, iron ore): fine grain, 6 - 10% cobalt binder
  • Coarse or tramp-prone feed: tougher 12 - 15% cobalt binder to survive edge loading
  • Edge and cheek zone: harder binder grades plus edge studs in the high-wear band
  • Studs ground to the drawing with press-fit interference held for reliable installation
  • Batch certification with hardness (HV30), density and transverse rupture strength

Questions buyers ask about this duty.

How do you choose the carbide grade for our HPGR?

From the feed, not the machine. Tell us the ore type, feed size, moisture and the life you currently get, and we match the binder content and grain size: abrasive dry feed wants hardness, coarse or tramp-prone feed wants toughness.

Can you match our existing stud pattern?

Yes. Send the roller drawing or the stud dimensions, pattern and bore tolerance, and the studs are made to that geometry with the press-fit interference held so installation behaves exactly as the original.

Send the duty, not just the grade.

Tell us the service conditions, the current material and what life you are getting. Our Dubai desk comes back with the grade, the thickness and what is in stock.
